Tragic reports say a major fire has engulfed Gul Plaza shopping center in Karachi, Pakistan, killing at least six people and injuring dozens more, as emergency crews continue battling the blaze more than 15 hours after it began.

The fire broke out late Saturday night at Gul Plaza in Karachi, a busy commercial building known for hundreds of small shops selling clothing, household goods, crockery, and other merchandise.The flames reportedly spread rapidly through multiple floors, fueled by highly flammable materials and possible chemical stockpiles inside the stores.

Authorities confirmed that among the dead is a firefighter who lost his life while attempting to rescue people trapped inside. Several others remain missing, and families are gathering at the scene as rescue teams work through dangerous smoke, heat, and collapsing structures. Firefighters have struggled to contain the blaze due to intense conditions, with thick smoke and limited visibility hampering access to affected areas. Officials say the fire likely spread upward quickly before engulfing large portions of the building. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident in Karachi, Pakistan, as emergency operations continue and the death toll may still rise.  Authorities continue monitoring the situation closely today.
