Israeli officials say the security situation has escalated rapidly following a reported series of missile strikes launched from Iran. According to authorities, multiple impacts were detected within a short time frame, prompting widespread alerts and raising fears of a broader regional confrontation that could potentially draw in additional international involvement.
Air raid sirens were activated in several areas as Israelās defense systems attempted to intercept incoming missiles. One of the most severe incidents was reported in Beit Shemesh, west of Jerusalem, where a ballistic missile strike caused significant destruction. Jerusalem District Police Chief Avshalom Peled stated that the missile directly hit a synagogue in the area. He explained that the force of the explosion caused the building to collapse, including the shelter located beneath it.
