tragic plane crash in Wyoming has claimed the lives of seven people, including members of a well-known gospel music family, leaving the Christian music world in deep mourning.

The victims were aboard a small private aircraft traveling toward Alaska when it went down in a remote area of Wyoming. Those confirmed lost include pilot Larry Haynie and his wife Melissa, family assistant Melanie Hodges, her daughter Amber, and Amber’s husband Nathan Kistler, as well as Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, members of the celebrated gospel group The Nelons. The only immediate family member not on the flight, Autumn Nelon Streetman, survived and later shared a heartfelt message thanking supporters for their prayers, describing her grief as beyond words.

The group had been en route to participate in the Gaither Homecoming Cruise, a major gospel music event that brings together leading Christian artists for performances and fellowship. The Nelons were scheduled to take part in the program, continuing their long-standing ministry of sharing messages of faith and hope through music.

Preliminary reports indicate that the aircraft, a twin-engine private plane, may have experienced mechanical problems before crashing. Witnesses in the area described seeing the plane descend rapidly, followed by a fireball upon impact. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but the remote location and intensity of the fire left no chance for survivors.

The loss has deeply affected fans and fellow performers across the gospel music community. For decades, the Nelons were known for their harmonies, uplifting performances, and commitment to spreading faith-based messages. Their influence extended far beyond the stage, touching audiences through both music and personal ministry.

As investigations continue into the cause of the crash, tributes continue to pour in for all seven victims, honoring their lives, their faith, and the legacy they leave behind.
