Fox’s Peter Doocy on Joe Biden: ‘I Will Miss Him’

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy said he will miss President Joe Biden, despite years of often tense and highly public exchanges between the two.

In an interview with New York Magazine writer Charlotte Klein, Doocy reflected on his time covering the White House and attending the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He observed that many Democrats appeared energized by the event, though he suggested that enthusiasm alone would not be enough in the long term. “At some point,” he noted, they would need to move beyond celebration and focus on substantive issues.

Doocy also commented on speeches by former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, describing them as “powerful” and praising their ability to captivate audiences even after stepping back from frontline politics. He expressed admiration for their communication skills, noting that few public figures today speak with the same impact.

Known for asking challenging questions, Doocy became a frequent sparring partner for Biden during press briefings. One of their most memorable exchanges occurred when Doocy questioned the president about concerns over his memory, prompting a sharp and widely circulated response from Biden. Reflecting on the moment, Doocy described it as quick-witted but suggested it marked a shift in the broader narrative surrounding the president.

Despite their adversarial dynamic, Doocy said he appreciated Biden’s willingness to engage. He noted that both the president and his team continued to respond to tough questions over the years, even when the exchanges were contentious.

Separately, the Department of Homeland Security is facing a lawsuit over a delayed response to a Freedom of Information Act request concerning Pennsylvania’s Election Threats Task Force. Critics argue the initiative could affect how election-related information is managed, while state officials maintain it is designed to protect voters and ensure accurate information.
