Kamala Harris Hints At 2028 Presidential Run

Former Vice President Kamala Harris said Monday that she has not decided whether she will mount another run for the White House, leaving open the possibility of a 2028 presidential campaign.

In an interview with podcast host Sharon McMahon, Harris was asked directly whether she intends to run again. “I haven’t decided,” she said, adding, “I might,” when pressed further.

Harris, who lost the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump, had previously ruled out a 2026 bid for California governor, a move that intensified speculation about her longer-term political plans. Before that decision, she was widely viewed as weighing three main paths: a gubernatorial run, another presidential campaign, or a potential exit from elected politics.

Polling referenced in the discussion showed Harris and California Gov. Gavin Newsom leading an early hypothetical Democratic primary field, though such surveys remain highly speculative at this stage.

During the interview, McMahon suggested Harris’s recently published memoir, “107 Days,” reflected an underlying interest in another presidential bid. Harris rejected that interpretation, saying the book focused on a specific period of her campaign and was intended as a reflection on that experience rather than a statement of future political plans.

Separately, Harris has begun reactivating her political and digital presence. Her former campaign social media accounts have been relaunched under a new branding initiative called “Headquarters,” described as a youth-focused political content and engagement platform. The project, developed in collaboration with the nonprofit People For the American Way, aims to mobilize younger voters around civic and democratic participation, according to statements cited in the report.

In a promotional video, Harris said the rebranded platform would serve as a hub for updates and engagement with political and civic leaders, and she appeared in a short clip announcing the transition of KamalaHQ into the new initiative.

While Harris has not formally entered the 2028 race, her public remarks and renewed online presence have fueled ongoing speculation that she remains a potential contender in future Democratic presidential politics.
